The one thing that you can be sure of finding in Bangalore, is yummy ice cream.
From oldie goldies like Lakeview Milk Bar, Corner House and Swenson’s to natural ice creams to the new fangled stone pounded ice creams, you can get delicious ice cream in almost every corner of this city.
My ancestors hail from the land of the Gadbad, and I come from the land of the chilli and thandai ice creams, yet, at some point in my not-so-long life, I became averse to ice cream. Gasp! That’s right.
When we moved to Bangalore, I had no intention of trying out any of the yummy flavours that this city tried to tempt me with.
One Saturday afternoon, we were exploring the stores in the lovely Hatworks Boulevard compound, when we wandered into a tiny cafe, hidden behind the Pony Craft store. It was the Bangalore branch of The Culinarium.
The hubby was immediately drawn to their display of ice cream, and as usual, I turned up my nose.
Hubby tried their vanilla ice cream and he convinced me to take a lick.
It was the best vanilla ice cream that I’ve ever eaten – creamy and so flavourful.
That was it! My old love for ice cream kicked back in and I ate almost two full scoops – vanilla and salted caramel.
I have to mention that their chocolate ice cream is beyond yummy!
The best ice cream that I’ve ever eaten!
One time eat or repeat?
